Enjoy movies under the stars with friends and family around Columbus throughout the summer and fall. Many community-sponsored movies are returning for 2021. There are also plenty of drive-in style movies that give you the outdoor movie experience in or near the safety of your car.

Upcoming Outdoor Movies 2021
Friday Night Flicks feature free movie under the stars at Sycamore Park Amphitheater in Pickerington at dusk on select Fridays, June 4 through July 30. Bring a blanket and chairs to enjoy a movie on the white barn with family and friends. See schedule here.
This year the Gahanna Summer Series features drive-in movies at Headly Park (1031 Challis Springs Dr.). Tickets are $20 per vehicle, and must be purchased in advance. Gates open 1 hour before start time. Food and drink available for purchase at concession stands and food trucks. You can also bring your own food; alcohol is not permitted. Restrooms will be OPEN, and will be cleaned regularly throughout the event.
The series will feature four movies celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2021! The schedule is as follows:
Friday, June 4th at 9pm – Screening of “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” (1971)
Friday, June 25th at 9pm- Screening of “Monster’s Inc. (2001)
Friday, July 16th at 9pm – Screening of “Shrek” (2001)

C3 Church in Canal Winchester hosts Movies on the Lawn this summer. Bring your crew, lawn chairs, and blankets. If it rains, the movie will be held inside the sanctuary. Free popcorn and snacks! Lot opens at 8:30; movies start at 9 pm.

New Albany Parks & Recreation are celebrating summer with the 2021 Summer Movie Series once a month on Fridays, June through August. The movies will be held at 3 different locations, and will feature entertainment and appearances. Movies start at dusk, around 9 pm. See details.

This year’s movies will take place in the Sculpture Garden at the Columbus Museum of Art. The movies will begin at dusk. Admission is free!
Before the movie, enjoy dinner at Pat & Gracie’s, Domino’s Pizza, or Pierogi Mountain. You can also stop by Hill’s Market Downtown to pick up snacks and refreshments.
Free parking is available in the museum’s adjacent parking lot on Gay Street and Washington Avenue.

The movie series is underwritten by the Discovery District Civic Association and Discovery Special Improvement District with support from the Columbus Museum of Art. Randy Walker is sponsoring the popcorn.
Head to Goodale Park on the 3rd Friday in July, August, and September for the Screen on the Green Outdoor Movie series. Movie will start at dusk. Food vendors and refreshments will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own. Check here for the schedule.

Friday, July 16 at 8:15 PM: Trolls World Tour
The movie is being shown after the Popcorn Pops concert. The concert requires admission, but after it is over, the gates will open to the public so anyone can come to watch the free movie.
Summer Drive-In Movie Nights are being shown at Civic Park in Reynoldsburg on select Saturdays. Events are a traditional drive-in experience. No pre-registration is required.

Polaris Fashion Place brings back FREE drive-in Moonlight Movies in May. Tickets can be reserved through Eventbrite; one per vehicle.
Movies will begin promptly at 7:30 pm. Event parking will begin at 6:30 pm.

Bring your sleeping bags, pillows and blankets and join us for a spook-tacular good time this October! Saturday nights are dedicated to Halloween-holiday favorites, and we’ll have popcorn, candy and soda for purchase.

Showings will be at 5 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. each Friday night in October. As you exit the event, you’ll listen to the Legend of Sleepy Hollow story on your radio as you drive through some of your favorite All Hallows’ Eve scenes. Encounter the widow and her mourners, the gravediggers, the funeral parlor owners looking for mourners to hire, the dancer of mystery and you may even see the Headless Horseman himself!

The Gateway Picture Show
TBA FOR 2021 The Gateway Picture Show is held on the 2nd Tuesday from June through September at the Gateway Plaza brought to you by Gateway – University District. The theme for 2019 is “Milestone Anniversaries”. Shows start at dusk, but arrive early for a good spot!
This FREE all-ages event (PG-13 recommended) will be held outside in the back of Gateway plaza (by the parking garage and Pearl Alley). Popcorn is provided by GFC, and you can purchase an adult beverage from The District PourHouse. You may also grab to-go food and non-alcoholic drinks from any of the nearby eateries. Off-the-ground chairs or blankets and cushions are recommended, as the plaza is bricked.
Uptown Movie Series in Westerville
TBA for 2021. Head to Uptown Westerville on select Fridays for a free screening of a family-friendly movie on the lawn of City Hall, 21 S. State St. Grab dinner in Uptown Westerville and then head to the courtyard with chairs or blankets to settle in for the show. All movies begin at dusk.
