Curbside grocery pickup and delivery has become very popular in the last couple of years. It makes it easier for busy adults to grab groceries on the way home from work or activities, or without taking kids into the store. Skip the cart and shop from your phone or computer!
Many people also find it budget-friendly, as it’s harder to sneak impulse buys into the cart when you can see a running balance – and easier to delete non-essentials if you go over your expected total.
While some stores charge a fee for pickup services, digital coupons offered from the stores may offset or eliminate the cost of service. Make sure you scroll through the available coupons before you start shopping! Paper coupons may be accepted at pickup; check store details for information.

Note about Grocery Shopping during Current Closures and Cancellations
Grocery stores are overwhelmed with pickup orders due to the warnings and cancellations. Pickup and delivery orders may be delayed, and items may be out of stock for a limited time while shoppers are panic buying.
Grocery shopping during the current pandemic has been challenging to say the least. We hope that things will settle down after this initial rash of panic shopping. Many shoppers are exhibiting hoarding behaviors – stocking up on way more groceries and household essentials than they could possibly need in the next month or three. This over-purchasing is leaving the shelves bare for those who can only afford to purchases the necessities, or for those who haven’t been able to make it to the store before the height of the crisis. If you have the capability (transportation and finances) to visit a store again next week, items will be restocked.
Please, we ask that you think of others before clearing the shelves of any product or taking more than you need. You do not need 100 rolls of toilet paper. The 90 year old man who came in behind you may just need 4 rolls to last him until he can get a ride to the store again, or until he receives his next social security check. He doesn’t know there was a run on toilet paper, or how to find out which store would have it in stock. He simply came to the store expecting to be able to purchase the basic necessities that he needs for his day to day life, and nothing more. Imagine the helplessness one would feel in that situation and reconsider buying a grocery cart full of toilet paper, which I witnessed on more than one occasion this week.
If you are going to buy more than you need, please consider donating to a food pantry, sharing with an elderly neighbor or family member, or finding someone in need who is struggling to secure the resources they need. Social distancing does not mean social ineptitude and greediness.
Don’t feel the need to attempt to store 1+ months of food at this time, as grocery delivery and pickup are likely to continue to be available throughout the course of the next few weeks. Shortages for various food and home goods are a daily occurrence due to panic shopping, but there have been no major shortages in the supply chain, so most stores are restock by the next day. You DO NOT need 4 months worth of toilet paper, bleach, hand sanitizer, or bottled water. Please be courteous of other shoppers and only purchase what you actually need so that others can purchase normal amounts of these items.

Due to people rushing to stock their homes, available time slots for grocery pickup may be pushed back by 1-2 days, or more. Stock is also low on a lot of items, so expect unavailable items or substitutions. Note that digital coupons you’ve loaded may not apply to the substituted product, so if you have a digital coupon for a product, you will want to select “no substitutions” for that item. You can refuse a substitution from an order at time of pickup. Substitutions can be refused at time of pickup.
