U-pick berry farms are a must-do summer activity, and below you’ll find a huge list of u-pick strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and other fruits near Columbus.
Crop availability at all farms can vary due to weather and crowds, so call before you go to find out if u-pick is available. Check directly on the farm websites using the links below to verify availability. It’s always important to check the day you intend to go.
New to berry picking? Look low and towards the back of berry plants and bushes. People tend to pick the ones that are the easiest to see, so if you are able to stoop down and look under the leaves, you’ll find more berries.
When can you pick different fruits and berries in Columbus? This is a general guide, and projected dates are listed below.
- Strawberries: Late May – Early June (continuous for everbearing patches)
- Raspberries: Early/mid June through early July, some varieties through October.
- Black Raspberries: Mid-June through early July, some varieties have additional fall crop. Note that some black raspberries have thorns on the plants, so be cautious if taking children to pick.
- Blueberries: June through July, depending on varieties
- Blackberries: Early July through August
- Cherries: Mid-June through early July
- Peaches: July through September, depending on variety.

Mitchell’s Meadow: Visit the wildflower meadow starting in late July. The field should be available for a couple of weeks, depending on bloom. Admission 8$/person gets you 12 stems, Couple Special $10/2 people/12 stems, Family Special $20/family(of up to 6)/12 stems. Under 3 years are complimentary. Additional stems available. Bring small pruners if you have them. The season should last a few weeks. (note: pricing is from 2021, may be different for 2022.
