New Albany Parks & Recreation are celebrating summer with the 2019 Summer Movie Series. Previously held at Wexner Community Park, this year they are bringing the movies to various locations around New Albany. In addition to the movie each night, families can enjoy balloon benders, face painters, inflatable obstacle courses, yard games and more. Each event will have different special attractions. Festivities begin at 6 pm, with the movie starting around 9 pm.
Bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets; no alcohol, pets and glass containers. Admission is free.
Friday, May 31: Smallfoot (PG) at Sumption Park (at the corner of New Albany Road East and Bevelhymer Road).
Fun features include an obstacle course, 4-sport inflatable toss, face painters, balloon bender, yard games. Special Appearance: The New Albany Police Department will be on hand to cookout, produce child ID cards, and more
Parking: Walking is encourage, but cars are welcome to park along New Albany Road East.
Friday, June 21: The Lego Movie 2 (PG) at Hampstead, green space at the corner of Fodor Road and Heath Gate Drive.
Fun features include: an inflatable obstacle course, soccer darts, face painters, balloon bender, yard games. Special Appearance: The Plain Township Fire Deprtment will visit with one of their engines at 7pm. In partnership with the New Albany Food Pantry, Empty Bowls invite you to paint bowls. Pre-registration for bowls is encouraged, but walk ups are welcome while supplies last.
Parking: Walking is encouraged, but parking will be available on Heath Gate Drive and Fodor Road
Friday, July 26: The Incredibles 2 at Thompson Park, 5600 Thompson Road
Fun features include an inflatable obstacle course, Bungee Run, Climbing Walls, Extreme Air, face painters, balloon bender and more!
In partnership with the New Albany Food Pantry, Empty Bowls invite you to paint bowls. Pre-registration for bowls is encouraged, but walk ups are welcome while supplies last.
Parking: Parking is available in lots at Thompson Park. Neighbors from The Preserve and Albany Park are encouraged to walk.
