I think everyone can agree that its SO important to shop local this holiday season when possible. We’re gathering a list featuring places to shop local in Columbus and surrounding areas to support area businesses.
Most of these lists are compiled by visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce, and other downtown associations, so they aren’t all-inclusive, but they’ll give you a great place to start! If you want to avoid shopping in person, many retailers are offering online shopping and/or Facebook shopping. You’ll also find deals and specials for small business Saturday and other shopping events.
If you’re a last minute shopper, this list will come in handy on December 23 and 24! Another bonus at shopping local is that small business shop owners and employees know their inventory, and are excellent at making suggestions for great gifts. Have no idea what to buy? Stop in a local store and ask the employee for ideas.

Event runs November 27 through December 14! Can you beat the game of Grandview Heights-OPOLY by visiting each participating business before time runs out?! This is a noncontact event all based on an app. It does require you to visit each store and find their clue to be entered to win 4- $100 value baskets and 36- $25 value baskets. Small Business Celebration Week is November 27 – December 5 in Downtown Lancaster. Many local shops will be offering discounts, coupons, and special deals, and will have extended shopping hours. See details here.
Destination Downtown Lancaster and its Board of Directors have created a limited time Bonus Gift Card Program. The first 200 individuals who submit the “Bonus Card Request” form and purchase a minimum $25 gift card will receive a $10 bonus card to the participating business of their choice.
