We can’t get enough of gorgeous fields of flowers, and lavender fields are some of the prettiest (and best smelling) fields you can enjoy! Find out where you can find some amazing lavender in Ohio.
And then see where you can find Sunflower Fields in Ohio, including many in Central Ohio, starting in late Summer.
Some farms have overlapping sunflowers and lavender, so you can enjoy both in one trip! Lavender farms typically start opening in June, so make your plans – reservations may be required!

Lavender season in Ohio
In Ohio, lavender fields are typically in bloom from mid-June through late-August, depending on variety. You may not find the fields of solid purple like in photos taken in France, but you will definitely enjoy some great photo ops at these lavender farms.
Bring a pretty basket, or gather a bundle of stems to include in your photos where allowed. Or bring a picnic or just walk among the blooms and enjoy the wonderful scent of lavender.
Farms may require registration or tickets for farm visits, and some are hosting events such as yoga, art classes, workshops, festivals, and more. Registering for these events would make a great gift for a daytrip for Mother’s Day!
Most lavender farms also sell a variety of personal care and home items, and your purchase supports local farmers and vendors.
Before you visit a lavender field or farm:
-Bees are attracted to lavender. While the typically don’t bother humans (unless threatened), if you have allergies or concerns about the bees, this may not be a good activity for you – and bring medicine you would need if you have an allergy.
-Never visit these fields or farms after hours or on closed days. These are all private property, and trespassing is illegal.
-Some farms do not have bathroom facilities available.
-Treat the farms like the treasures that they are – no littering (including cigarette butts!), don’t pick flowers without permission, only walk in designated paths, treat employees and other guests with respect, be courteous of others wanting to take pictures in the area you are in (don’t hog the good spots).
-support the farms with your purchases.
See the Google map of lavender fields at the end of the article to plan your route! Most of the farms with lavender in Ohio are closer to at least one other farm, so you may be able to visit two in one day!
