Westerville Field of Heroes during Memorial Day Weekend

Westerville Field of Heroes is a Memorial Day tradition that honors and remembers our heroes.

The annual Field of Heroes, presented by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club, offers multiple experiences from May 23-26, 2025.

The event is at the Westerville Sports Complex at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and County Line Road West. 

The field displays 3,000 American flags in perfect rows. The Field of Heroes is especially moving when the flags are illuminated after dark. The field is open 24 hours a day through the weekend.

Theme for 2025 is “50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War”

Flag Sales

Purchase a flag to honor a hero for $35 on the website. For $20, flags can be dedicated and flown in this year’s field, with the flag being returned to the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club for continual use.

Purchasing Shipped Flags is $35 (each flag) as well as $7.50 shipping for up to two flags to the same address, with additional shipping for more.

In addition to flag sales, a tradition has begun to offer a commemorative coin representing each year. 

Field of Heroes 5K Run/Walk

Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 8:00 AM. This family/friendly 5k Run/Walk offers unique opportunities to finish among 3,000 full size American flags!

Sign up for the 5k Run/Walk for an active and alternative way to honor your heroes in a unique and breathtaking setting. This flat course is on paved recreation paths, against one of the most memorable backdrops you’ll ever experience!
