The Chinese New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs. Chinese New Year 2022 is from February 1 – February 15, 2022; ending with the Lantern Festival. It’s also referred to as the Lunar New Year because it marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars traditional to many east Asian countries.

Global Engagement Night with OSU
February 1: Lunar New Year Celebration: Year of the Tiger. Global Engagement Night provides opportunities for international and domestic students to experience the diverse culture at Ohio State. Virtual discussions are held every Tuesday from 6-7 pm via CarmenZoom.
Global Engagement Night enables students to expand their global and cultural perspectives and celebrate students’ diverse experiences at Ohio State. Lunar New Year Celebration with International Friendships (IFI)
IFI is a Christian community organization that works in partnership with universities and volunteers to promote friendship and hospitality for international students, scholars and family members. Programs and activities are open to students of all nationalities and religions; any international student, visiting scholar, or spouse who wants to get to know other international students and American volunteers can participate. Families are always welcome.
January 30, 2022 at 7:30 pm. Celebrate the Lunar New Year and the “Year of the Tiger” with a virtual event featuring a video, Instagram Live, prizes and more. Details here.
The local IFI non-profit organization has some local volunteers who are available to host small gatherings to learn about and celebrate the Lunar New Year on Friday night, January 28th. We invite you to get together with a small group of international friends to enjoy good fun, special activities, and a unique message about how the Lunar Year relates to the Bible.
If you are from a country that does not celebrate the Lunar New Year, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn and experience something new.
