Ahoy! The Pirate Festival is coming to Buckeye Lake! Pirates, Mermaids & Steampunk fans and the public are invited for a Treasure Hunt by Land and Sea, and a family friendly Pirate Marketplace.
The annual PirateFest is at Buckeye Lake on May 15-17, 2026. This 3-day family friendly festival features a Pirate Market, a Pirate Treasure Hunt and Pirate Parties.

Port Royal Pirate Trade Show Marketplace
The expanded Port Royal Pirate Marketplace is now at Captain Big Stan’s Bar, located at 8635 Blackbird Lane, Thornville, Ohio. The expanded venue provides significantly more space for vendors, entertainment, themed activities, and visitors.
Guests can enjoy both the Pirate Market and the brand‑new Pirate Renaissance Market. Visitors can explore a wide variety of pirate, nautical, fantasy, steampunk, artisan, handcrafted, food and specialty vendors from across the region.

Treasure Hunt by Land & Sea
Kick off Summer with a Treasure Hunt featuring over 30+ locations and other events by Land and Sea!
Pirate Fest Treasure Maps will be handed out at the Port Royal / the Harbor Community Center and participating local area businesses while supplies last.
The Treasure Maps will identify 30+ business locations with a red X that will each have a drawing for a treasure chest with content customized by each business.
Special Events Tours
Select businesses are hosting Special Event Tours with mini-hunts. Details are tba for these.
