Sunflowers season is highly anticipated in Central Ohio during which the sunflower unofficially officially becomes the flower of Instagram. The Coshocton Sunflower Festival brings all of the happiness and photo ops to a 4-acre field.
Heading in the 3rd year of the festival, the Coshocton Sunflower Festival features over 40 varieties of sunflowers in the field! Take pictures, explore the field, and choose your favorite flower.

The Exotic Garden
The exotic garden will feature unique flowers in many shapes, sizes, and colors. These sunflowers are not to cut or for purchase.
The Wilds features 40+ varieties of sunflowers, and you’ll get to pick a stem (or many stems) of sunshine.
Each ticket holder gets to cut a sunflower of their choice. Need more than one? You can also pick a Bucket o’ Sunshine as an add-on to your experience at the festival. Fill up a whole bucket with sunflowers during your visit! This is an add-on that you can pre-purchase when you buy tickets online. Bucket o’ Sunshine will also be available during the festival. Sunflower bundles of 6 or 12 are also available for additional purchase during the festival or can be pre-purchased when you buy tickets online.
Sea of Yellow
The “Sea of Yellow” is a huge field of 5-6 ft tall classic yellow sunflowers. Climb up the bridge and take all the photos you can in the beautiful sea.
Photo Props for Photo Ops
You’ll find antiques photo props throughout the festival that are perfect for your photo ops.
Food Trucks and Beer Garden
What’s a festival without food? There will be a variety of food trucks to choose from so you can spend more time at the field without getting hungry. They are hoping to provide a beer garden, but this may not be possible during 2020 due to restrictions.
Dates, Tickets, and Admission
Tickets must be purchased in advance! You’ll want to purchase your ticket in advance as soon as possible, as popular days will sell out! Early bird pricing is available for some packages, and will save you money.
Early Bloomers Day: Sunday, August 9, 12 pm – 7 pm. Opens before the festival starts. Wagon rides and sunflower cuttings are available, but there won’t be live music or food. Flowers will just begin to open, but not all varieties will have bloomed. Each ticket includes admission, wagon ride to the fields, and one sunflower of the guest’s choice. General admission $10-$12, Youth 3-11 $7-$10. Ages 0-2 free.
Early Weekday: Monday/Tuesday, August 10 – 11, 10 am – 7 pm. Weekdays are a quiet time to explore and are a great time for photography and a chance to avoid crowds. Flower picking is available, but no food service or live music. No wagon rides, so guests need to be able to walk 1/4 mile to the field. Not all varieties will be in bloom yet. Each ticket includes admission and one sunflower of the guest’s choice. General admission $10, Youth 3-11 $7. Ages 0-2 free.
Full Festival: Friday – Sunday, August 14 – 16, Friday 12 pm – 9 pm, Saturday 10 am – 9 pm, Sunday 10 am – 7 pm. Full festival with wagon rides to the field, 40 varieties of flowers, live music, food trucks, and more. Each ticket includes admission, wagon ride to the fields, and one sunflower of the guest’s choice. General admission $10-$18, Youth 3-11 $7-$10. Ages 0-2 free.
Late Weekday: Wednesday/Thursday, August 19 – 20, 10 am – 7 pm. Weekdays after the festival are a good opportunity to visit the field with less crowds and is a great time for photos. This is non-festival admission with flower picking, but no food service or LIVE music. No wagon rides, so guests need to be able to walk 1/4 mile to the field. Some varieties may no longer be in bloom or may be picked over from the festival. Each ticket includes admission and one sunflower of the guest’s choice. General admission $10, Youth 3-11 $7. Ages 0-2 free.
Final Flowers Weekend: Friday/Saturday, August 21 & 22, Friday noon – 9 pm, Saturday, 10 am – 9 pm. Last chance to see the blooms! Non-festival weekend includes a tractor ride and sunflower picking, but no food service or live music. Some flowers come on late, but others will be finished or be picked. General admission $10-$12, Youth 3-11 $7-$10. Ages 0-2 free.
Dog Day, Sunday, August 23, noon – 7 pm. Last day of the season, and your dog is welcome! Bring your dog to frolic through the flowers. Dogs should be socializes, and must be leashed and cleaned up after. Wagon ride and flower picking available; no food service or live music. Some flowers come on late, but others will be finished or be picked. General admission $10-$12, Youth 3-11 $7-$10. Ages 0-2 free.
Sunflower Season Pass: August 9 – 11, 14 – 16, 19 -23. Good for unlimited admissions to the festival for one person. A sunflower of the guest’s choice is included each day attended. Tickets are $20-$32. Early Bird Pricing through July 14th. Final Discount Pricing. July 15th – August 3rd. Full price August 4th and after. A two day pass is also available for $15-$25.
Reminder: tickets must be purchased in advance and are sold online only. Festival is rain or shine; tickets cannot be refunded or changed.
