National Night Out serves to promote safer communities by bringing together neighbors, police, and firefighters, and is celebrated the first Tuesday of August.
Many of the events feature free food, live music, and other fun features. Kids will get to interact with, and watch demonstrations by police officers and firefighters. See more details here.

2023 National Night Out Columbus
National Night Out Grandview Heights
Tuesday, August 1 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Wyman Woods Park.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff community members are invited to gather together at Wyman Woods Park for festivities including touch a truck, bike rodeo, donut eating contests, representatives from SWAT teams, K9 and Franklin County Sheriff’s team. The park will also feature sponsors and community groups with hands on activities for you all to enjoy.
1st Annual National Night Out in Upper Arlington
Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 from 6-8 pm at 1880 Northam Road in Upper Arlington

Whitehall’s National Night Out
Tuesday, August 1 from 5 pm – 8 pm at John Bishop Memorial Park, 4815 Etna Rd, Columbus
Meet your Whitehall law enforcement and emergency service providers while joining together with your neighbors to stand up to crime!
Nearly a dozen local agencies will be on hand for this family-friendly event. Activities include: K9 demonstrations, Bike Rodeo, Games, Live music, climbing wall, combat challenge, and more! See details here.
Franklinton National Night Out
Tuesday, August 1 from 5:30 pm – 8 pm at Avondale Schoolyard (141 Hawkes Ave)
There will be giveaways and activities for the whole family, including free food, raffle prizes, community resources, kid activities, a backpack giveaway, and more. See details here.
National Night Out Downtown Columbus
Tuesday, August 1 from 4 pm – 7 pm at Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 South Grant Avenue Columbus
Come out to Kaufman Plaza behind the Main Library and meet your neighbors and local law enforcement officers, while enjoying food trucks, beverages and live music. Details here.
Genoa Township National Night Out
Tuesday, August 1 from 5 pm – 8 pm at McNamara Park (7049 Big Walnut Road)
The event features free food, music, games, a bounce house, touch-a-truck experience and officer meet and greet. An epic water balloon fight between cops and kids takes place at the end of the event. See details here.
Clinton Estates National Night Out
Tuesday, August 1 starting at 6pm at Trinity United Church of Christ (1180 Shanley Dr.). This event will not only be used to promote safety in the neighborhood but hopefully also will recruit new families and residents to become involved with CECA.
COSI will be at the event, as well as other fun activities. CECA will provide the main course and neighbors are asked to bring side dishes and desserts. Bring lawn chairs.
Clinton Estates is the area between Maize Rd and Karl Rd on the East/West, and Cooke Rd and Morse Rd on the North/South.
South Central Hilltop National Night (Day) Out
Saturday, August 12 at 1-4 pm at Burroughs Park, 551 South Richardson Avenue. Enjoy animal demonstration with Columbus Zoo, COSI Science activities, giveaways, and more. See details here.

Gahanna National Night Out
Tuesday, tba 2023 from 5:30 pm – 8 pm at Sunpoint Park (670 McCutcheon Road)
Activities will include displays of Gahanna Division of Police SWAT, patrol vehicles and equipment. Members of the Division will be available to meet with members of the community. Gahanna PD bike officers will have an obstacle course set up. See details here.
Hilliard National Night Out
Tuesday, August tba 2023 from 6-8 pm at Hilliard East Park (4450 Schirtzinger Road). The park is located next to the Clyde “Butch” Seidle Community Pool. Hilliard Police will offer various activities, including cruise and motorcycle displays, info about programs and services offered by the Division, such as Vacation House Checks, bicycle registration, Women’s Self Defense classes and the nationally renowned Citizen’s Police Academy program. Plus K9 Ari demonstration, dunk tanks with police officers, raffles, free food and treats, and more. Norwich Township Fire Department will also set up a fire truck splash pad (6-6:45 pm). Worthington National Night Out
August tba 2023 at two locations. Selby Park between 6:00-6:30 PM Wilson Hill Park 7:00-7:30 PM. Event will feature treats, safety memorabilia, and more. Details here.
Worthington neighborhoods can also request a mobile visit from the Worthington Police Department to visit during neighborhood cookouts or block parties this summer. Officers will stop by your event with free ice cream, safety memorabilia, and information on how you can sign up to participate in our next Citizen’s Academy. Salem Village National Night out
TBA 2023, from 6-8pm at Chaseland Park (959 E. Lincoln Ave. Columbus). Bring your family and leashed pets for games, snacks and treats for your 4-legged friend.
Greater Eastside National Night Out
TBA 2023 from 5 pm – 9 pm at 5800 Chantry Drive, Columbus. A free event focused on community and crime prevention through community and police partnerships.
