Volunteer opportunities for kids with Seeds of Caring

Families are often looking for ways to introduce kids to volunteerism, and Seeds of Caring is a great organization hosting events throughout the year!

Seeds of Caring hosts service-focused programs for Columbus-area kids to help plant the seeds of volunteering in our young citizens. Kids LOVE helping, and these projects will show them that they can make a difference.

Some programs are free to participate, while others require a fee to help offset the costs. These donations allow the organization to host programming for kids.

If you cannot cover the supply fees, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org and they will register you for free, no questions asked.

There are opportunities for clothing drives, lunch packing blanket making, service projects, at-home projects to be donated, and more.

Park Prep Crew: Families Mulching

June 3, 2026 from 9:30 am – 11 am

Kids ages 2-12 and their grown-ups can join Seeds of Caring and Westerville Parks and Recreation to prepare a local park for a new season and help green spaces thrive. In this FREE events, families will learn about invasive species and help with cleaning up and mulching. All supplies will be provided. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes and long pants, and bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Garden gloves of all sizes will be provided, but feel free to bring your own! Register here!

PRIDE & Care: Hygiene Kit Assembly

June 27 2026 from 10 am – 11:30 am.

In this free, kid-friendly service opportunity from Seeds of Caring, children 6-12 and their families will learn how to be an active ally, then create care kits for LGBTQIA+ youth who visit the Kaleidoscope Youth Center. Register here.
