Walk, Roll, and Play an Open Streets 614 Event
August 24, September 28 & October 26, 2025 @ 12 – 4 pm
We’re joining forces with Columbus City Councilmember Lourdes Barroso de Padilla for a new event series, UnderCurrent: Walk, Roll, and Play, an Open Streets 614 event. The FREE series will shut down High Street in Downtown Columbus for activities, games, food trucks and local business activations.
The program will be a celebration of community partners with a focus on alternative modes of transportation. High Street will be transformed for a day of car-free activity with a dedicated lane for bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and more. Additional activities will include pop-up workout classes, live art, opportunities to learn about transit and mobility initiatives, and more, all for free.
The first two events on Aug. 24 and Sept. 28 will take place on High and Gay Streets under Janet Echelman’s sky-high sculpture, Current, as part of the UnderCurrent event series. The final event on Oct. 26 will include a bigger celebration, stretching from Columbus Commons to Current, shutting down High Street from Long to Town Streets.
