The Annual Lighting of the Licking County Courthouse will not be held as an in-person event for 2020. They are planning a virtual lighting program and will still light up the courthouse and square, so make sure you drive through downtown Newark this holiday season to enjoy the lights.
The beautiful historic 1876 Licking County Courthouse looks AMAZING all lit up, and courthouse square is filled with larger than life Christmas displays.
The virtual Lighting Ceremony and the official start of the Christmas Holiday Season always takes place on the night after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27, 2020. Join in the festivities on YouTube and Facebook to enjoy the annual holiday music program, the excitement of Santa’s arrival, and the lighting of the local landmark.
Virtual Festivities will begin at 6:00 pm with the master of ceremonies Pat Jeffries. A number of holiday favorites will be performed by singers from years past. Also featured will be “The Heisey Brass”, a local quintet directed by Doug Moran and playing a variety of Christmas favorites. Committee Members and Community stakeholders will be highlighted during the program as well. The Courthouse and Lawn will light at the conclusion of the Virtual Lighting Ceremony.
The Elves in Action will be downtown on the Square that evening to kick-off their annual holiday food drive. Volunteers will be located on the east side of the Square each evening until Christmas. All food collected will be donated to and distributed by the Licking County Food Pantry Network.
Watch the virtual ceremony online, and then head into Newark during the holiday season to see it in person.

Good question. I’m not affiliated with this event, and I haven’t seen anything about the ornaments this year. If I remember correctly, The Licking County Chamber of Commerce usually does the sales for these, so you may want to check with them.
Question about the Licking County Courthouse Christmas Bulb where will they be to buy them and how much?
