Upper Arlington Public Library offers many fun and educational programs for children ages 0-18 through the Youth Services program, as well as events for adults, all year long. With three branches in the UAPL system, you’ll always find something to do!
Special events at the UA Libraries
A Visit From the Farm
September 16 from 10:00 am – Noon, at Lane Road
Drop by to see some animal friends from “Bring the Farm to You” including chickens, ducks, rabbits, turkeys, sheep, goats, and a pig. Weather permitting as this will be an outdoor event. (Ages 2+)
Teen Service Club
September 20 from 2:30pm – 3:30pm, at Miller Park
Students in 6-12 grades can earn an hour of service credit. Library projects will be completed as a group activity. Registration is required.
Chalk Art
September 20 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, at Tremont Road.
Get creative with sidewalk chalk! Decorate the sidewalks in front of the library. All ages are invited.
Mario Kart Tournament
September 20 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm, at Tremont Road
Start your engines and join a Mario Kart tournament on the big screen. Put your racing skills to the test and earn prizes! Ages 10-18.
Come to Your Senses with Cooking Caravan
September 28 from 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm, at Tremont Road
Use your FIVE senses to answer trivia questions and complete challenges in this hilarious game show event. Win prizes!
Teddy Bear Party
September 28 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Lane Road
Bring your favorite teddy bear (or other stuffed friend) to a special party with fun crafts, games, and more.
Meet Baby Chicks
September 30 from 10: am – Noon, at Miller Park.
Stop by to meet and touch the chicks, submit a favorite name, and get answers to frequently asked questions.
Block Play
September 30 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Lane Road.
Children of all ages will have fun duirng this open play time with large cardboard blocks, LEGO DUPLOS, KEVA planks and more!
Wildlife Encounter
October 3 from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Tremont Road
The Ohio Wildlife Center will share the history of Ohio’s native wildlife and how to coexist with wildlife. Meet some live animal visitors and hear the stories about the centers residents. Register starting 9/18.
Pony Bead Keychains
October 04 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm, at Tremont Road
Join a fun afternoon of crafting with pony bead crafts! Keychain materials and patterns will be provided.
Disney Bingo
October 05 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, at Tremont Road
BINGO! Disney lovers of all ages will have fun playing Bingo at the library. Win prizes while having a magical time with family and friends.
Erica Carlson and Friends
October 6 from 10:30 am – 11:10 am, at Miller Park. Registration Required!
Young animal lovers will enjoy magical stories and interactive fun. Live animal appearances may include Sedgie the Hedgie and/or Picasso the Turtle.

Dissect an Owl Pellet

Learn about owls and dissect an owl pellet! Kids 6-11 can experience this unique, hands-on opportunity to embrace their inner scientist. While supplies last.
Construction Party
October 12 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am, and 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, at Lane Road
Participate in construction-themed crafts, games, and special activity stations. Kids 2-6.
Vinyl Club
October 12 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm, at Tremont Road
Love vinyl records? Enjoy a relaxing afternoon listening to favorite albums, testing the library’s listening station, and decorating your own record sleeves!
Teen Service Club
October 16 from 2:30pm – 3:30pm, at Miller Park

Fire Truck Visit
October 21 from 10:30 am – 11:00 am, outside of Miller Park
The Upper Arlington Fire Division will visit to teach kids about fire safety and to show off their fire truck.
Pint-Size Pumpkin Decorating
October 24 from 10:00 am – 7:30 pm, at Miller Park
Kids and teens can be creative and decorate a small pumpkin with a holiday theme. Pumpkins and fun materials will be provided. Supplies are limited and available first come, first served.
Costume Dance Party
October 25 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, and October 26 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, at Lane Road
Children of all ages can join a dance party, dressed in their favorite costume. Dance to silly music, play with a parachute, and make a craft.
Teen & Tween Crafternoon – DIY Squishies
October 27 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm, at Lane Road
Grades 4-12 can get creative while making squishable fidget toys. All supplies are provided.
Pumpkin Parade
October 28 from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, at Tremont Road
Join us for the annual Pumpkin Parade! Come dressed in costume for a silly and spooky storytime, then parade around the library and snag a few treats. There is a sensory-friendly pumpkin parade on Oct 29 at 11:30 am before the public enters the library!
Ohio Canids
October 29 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at Tremont Road
Ohio Canids will be available in the atrium to share information about various species, including foxes, wolves, and coyotes!
Trick-or-Treat at the Library
October 31 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at Miller Park
Stop by the Miller Park Branch for a special treat during the City of Upper Arlington’s Beggars Night. Candy available while supplies last.
Make a Candle with Studio 614
November 06 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, at Tremont Road
Studio 614 instructors will visit the library to teach tweens and teens the art of making scented candles! Ages 12 and up. Registration opens on Monday, October 23 2023 at 10:00am
CHA Animal Shelter Visit
Saturday, November 18: 10:00am – 12:00pm at Miller Park Branch
Dog and cat lovers can make crafts and chat with representatives from CHA Animal Shelter to learn about animal adoption and the local shelter. Adoptable animals may be on-site based on availability.
Dinosaur Party
November 28 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, at Lane Road.
Come have a dino-riffic time with crafts, games, and activities, including a dinosaur fossil dig! For kids of all ages.
Take Apart Tech!
December 05 from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm, at Tremont Road
Curious minds and aspiring engineers can explore how things work at the take apart tech event. Devices like old phones and computer parts – and the tools to dismantle them – will be provided.
Make Your Own Light-Up Cards
Wednesday, December 13: 4:00pm – 5:30pm at Tremont Road Branch
Get ready for the holiday season with your own light-up greeting cards! With guidance from our Media specialists, learn to make simple circuits to create up to five cards! For ages 10-18.
