Upcoming exhibits at OSU Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery

Tucked in the historic Lazarus Building in downtown Columbus, OSU Urban Arts Space is a gallery space that hosts FREE exhibitions, performances, activities throughout the year.

The experimental galleries adapt to the needs of Ohio State’s arts curriculum, and makes art more accessible.

The space is located in the largest gold-certified LEED renovated building in the region, and features a rooftop garden.

Urban Arts Space also directs Hopkins Hall Gallery, a satellite gallery on Ohio State’s main campus

Arts Scholars Juried Exhibition

January 17 – January 28, 2023

The Juried Art Exhibition highlights work from students participating in The Ohio State University’s Arts Scholars Program.

This exhibition spotlights the program’s talented artists and their personal relationships with the visual arts, celebrating the integral role of the arts regardless of academic or career pursuits.

Saturday, January 21: Reception from 4:00–6:00 PM at Urban Arts Space.

Join us Thursday – Saturday Jan. 26-28th from 7-9 p.m. for drinks, interactive art, and live performance!

Emerging from ongoing, collaborative research centered around intimate encounters with wilderness landscapes, T H E W I L D S seeks to imagine beyond the human/nature divide. Traversing through immersive digital landscapes, audiences are invited to return to the curiosity, wisdom, and wildness that pulse through their bodies.

Rooftop Garden Tours

TBA for 2023; check back in Spring. Get an up-close look at the gorgeous garden atop the historic Lazarus Building. As a bonus, you’ll also get some dazzling views of Columbus. Take pics of the one-of-a-kind views! Registration is required.

All events and exhibitions are always free and open to the public.

Hopkins Hall Gallery

Hopkins Hall Gallery is a satellite gallery of Urban Arts Space on Ohio State’s main campus.

The space highlights the work of students, faculty, staff, and other campus initiatives that generate collaboration, conversation, and artistic growth.

31st Annual John Fergus Family Scholarship Exhibition

January 9 – January 20, 2023

The John Fergus Family Scholarship is a juried art competition open to studio-based visual art and design students at The Ohio State University.

Students submit their work for review by a jury of faculty from the departments of Art, Arts Administration, Education and Policy (AAEP), Design, and History of Art.

Scholarship winners receive a $1,000 scholarship applied to their student account and exhibit their work at the annual Fergus Scholarship Award Exhibition at Hopkins Hall Gallery, a group exhibition featuring work selected from the scholarship recipients’ applications.
