Winter is a great time to work on inside projects around your home! If you don’t have the tools you need, don’t buy them – borrow them from the Modcon Living’s Tool Library for Franklin County residents.
Modcon Living’s Tool Library offers over 4,000 individual hand and power tools.
Tools can be borrowed for 1 or 7 days, depending on the type of tool, and a $5 late fee is charged per day thereafter. Borrowers are held responsible for broken or stolen tools.
You must be a homeowner, landlord, or tenant (with permission from a landlord) in the Columbus area to qualify for membership. There is a membership fee to help them keep the free tool rental program going – see member details here.
Special membership rates are available based on income eligibility. You may also borrow tools to work on non-profit projects in Columbus.

It appears that they are temporarily closed to move locations. From the website:
In advance of our exciting move to our new 5th Avenue location, our Tool Library will be closing temporarily effective on November 9, with final tool loans issued on November 2. Visit our Events Page for the details or email Caroline at toollibrary@modconliving.org.

I have been by twice during ‘open hours’ only to see the closed sign. What gives?

If you click on the link in the article that takes you to the tool library website, they should have a list of tools they need – or at least contact information to ask them what they’ll accept! https://www.modconliving.org/donate

I am wanting to donate tools but was wondering what you guys would accept. Thank you
