Eat, Drink, Sing, Dance at the annual Serbian Festival at St. Stevan of Dechani! You won’t need a passport to travel to Serbia!
The church’s grounds are transformed into a Serbian village with homemade Serbian dishes and pastries, full bar with Serbian beer, Slivovica, and wines.
Tasty delicacies include fire-roasted lamb, grilled chevapcici (beef and pork skinless sausages), homemade sarma (cabbage leaves stuffed with beef and pork, cooked with smoked meat), homemade burek (meat pie), gibanica (noodle and cheese casserole), an array of Serbian salads and side dishes, and to top off these delights, homemade apple strudel, baklava and many other homemade Serbian pastries.
Enjoy live Serbian music for sing-alongs and kolo dancing, children’s activities and books, icons and religious items for sale from St. Stevan’s Bookstore.
Admission is $5 for adults, with ample free parking. Admission free for children 17 and under.
