Trick-or-Treat with the Pups at Franklin County Dog Shelter
Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10 am – noon Treat stations for the kids are located throughout the shelter, along with crafts, games, and holiday activities.
There’s also a REVERSE Trick-or-Treat, where guests can give dog treats to the adoptable dogs and they walk through the shelter. Read more here!

Howl-O-Ween at the Columbus Commons
October 18, 2025 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Columbus Commons, 160 S High St
Get ready for (the first ever) Howl-o-ween at Columbus Commons for dogs and their humans! Dress up your pup for the costume contest and dive into dog-friendly crafts, hit the “trick-for-treat” stations together, and run around in our two fenced-in lawn areas.
You’ll also find food trucks, a live DJ, bubble machines, and vendors galore, it’s the fall party for furry friends and dog lovers alike. No pup? Dog lovers are also welcome!
Howl-O-Ween at Infirmary Park in Granville
October 19, 2025 from 1 pm – 3 pm
Join us at the Paws 2 Play Dog Park for a fun afternoon celebrating Howl-o-ween with our canine pals. Activities for the pups will include make your own own pup cups, paw print stamps, photo booth, agility try it, and a toy/treat scavenger hunt.

Halloween-themed pet events at Columbus Metro Parks
Barktoberfest at Rocky Fork Metro Park: Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4:30 pm – 7 pm
Fun for you and your canine best friend! Costume contest registration from 430-6; judging and parade at 615. Prizes awarded! Food trucks! Also accepting donations of puppy/kitten Food, cat litter, & any large non-fabric dog toys for local shelter.
HOWLoween Hike at Blacklick Woods: October 26, 2025 from 3 pm – 4 pm
Dress up your furry friend for Halloween and take a 2-mile hike.
Trick or Treat for the Dogs by RESCUEDohio and Hollywood Feed New Albany
Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 11 am – 1 pm
Bring your pups to visit the local businesses participating in this doggy trick-or-treat event. Check in will begin at 11am at Hollywood Feed New Albany where you will receive your map and bag to collect your goodies.
The entire route is just under a mile starting at Hollywood Feed New Albany and moving around the downtown New Albany area. Tickets are $10; available at at Hollywood Feed on the day of the event.
Howlin’ Hound Trick-or-Treat
October 26, 2025 from noon – 3 pm
Join Cakehound, the German Village Society, and Stop the Suffering for a pup Trick or Treat in German Village.
Check in and pickup your trick or treat map in Schiller Park, and then head out to collect the dog treats a various businesses on the 2-3 mile route. Dogs must be on leash, no retractable leashes! Details and sign up on Facebook.
Costumes encouraged, and there’s a costume contest via social media with 3 prize categories.
$10 per dog. Select local pickup at checkout if prompted. You will use your order number or name at time of check in- there are no physical tickets. $2 from each ticket will be donated to Stop the Suffering on your behalf.
