Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse: Beer Tastings, Movies, and more

Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse hosts so many fun events along with movies, including beer tastings, themed series, and community events throughout the year.

Also, it’s a REALLY cool theater! (It’s also the first place I learned about the perfect pairing of M&M’s mixed into Movie Theatre popcorn…)

Family-owned and located in Clintonville, it’s not “just” a movie theatre. In addition to the 2 movie screens, they also have a full bar with 40 draft beers, and a in-house pizza kitchen with creative pizzas, hot sandwiches, and salads. So you can even just stop in for pizza and beer! (I NEED the Fig-a-ma-jig pizza!)

Fun facts? It’s the FIRST theater in the US to have a license to sell alcohol in the early 1970s. And, it’s home to several ghosts!

Special events at Studio 35

Food and Country: A Free Documentary Screening in Support of Common Greens

Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 12 pm – 2 pm.
Common Greens, Slow Food Columbus, and Studio 35 will present, Food and Country, a documentary that discusses America’s policy of producing cheap food. The screening is in celebration of the opening weekend of the Clintonville Farmers Market.

Entry is free, but donations to support the work of Common Greens, the operator of five central Ohio farmers markets, will be accepted. Seats for this event are limited and must be reserved in advance. To get your tickets today, please visit commongreensohio.org. Special guest, Bob Jones, Jr. a 4th generation Ohio farmer, will host an after-film discussion about his experience making the film and as a farmer. Mark Anthony Arceno with Slow Food Columbus and Amy Bodiker Baskes with Common Greens will moderate this Q & A.

Fibonacci’s Pizzeria specialty pizzas are $12. You-Do-You pizza pies (with up to 3 toppings) are only $10! The specialty pizza combinations look amazing! (I love a bougie pizza!)

Movie tickets are just $8 on Tuesdays! What else are you doing on a Tuesday night??

Beer Tastings at Studio 35

Catch a fun movie paired with featured breweries or themed beer. These make a great day date, event with friends, or something to do on your own with other people who enjoy the same things (beer and movies!).

Tickets are typically around $45-$50 and include 10 beer tastings, funny stuff with Andy, a custom pint glass or other swag, and raffle prizes! The events are structured, so make sure you arrive before the starting time to collect giveaways, tasting cups, and get your seats.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Studio 35 also hosts cult-classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show with The Fishnet Mafia once a month (usually the 1st Saturday).

Dude movie, Dude merch + beer tastings. This is the most popular annual event and showings ALWAYS sells out. (Proof, it’s sold out). 

Watch The Big Lebowski! and enjoy the event hosted by Andy Wuelfing, featuring your favorite breweries. Tickets are $50 and include a custom-printed pint glass, raffles, 10 beer samples, and the movie.
