The OSU Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences is proud to announce the fifth annual CogFest Film Event!
Have you ever wondered how close we are to the technologies and sciences presented in our favorite sci-fi films? Could any of it be real and is it right around the corner? CogFest is an annual event that aims to explore these possibilities!
First, guests watch a sci-fi film and enjoy some food (on us), then they are invited back to hear a panel of cognitive science experts discuss the reality of the science in the film. By bringing cognitive science to the public, we hope to inspire anyone and everyone to become interested in the topic. Whether you’re an expert, novice, or somewhere in-between, we welcome you to attend!
Event Details:
Prior to the film screening, CCBS will host a casual public reception in the Fawcett Center Montgomery Room. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served between 5:30 and 6:15 PM. The film screening will begin promptly at 6:30 PM and run until 8:30 PM.
The following week, on Wednesday, April 27, guests will be invited back to watch a virtual discussion led by local cognitive science experts. The experts will discuss the science behind the film and answer audience questions. Guests will receive a separate email with information about joining this virtual event.
We hope you’ll join us! Email ccbs@osu.edu for more information or visit https://cog.osu.edu/cogfest
