Choral Evensong is a service of sung Evening Prayer that began during the English Reformation of the 1500s. It combines elements from several older evening services that had been prayed daily in monasteries throughout the Middle Ages. The service is contemplative and includes prayers (both spoken and sung), readings from scripture, hymns, and choral anthems.
Admission is free. Donations will be gratefully received in support of the Special Music Fund at Saint Mark’s. A reception will follow.
Saint Mark’s is located at 2151 Dorset Road, 5 blocks north of Lane Avenue, between Redding & Tremont Roads. Parking is available in the Tremont Shopping Center.
