Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinics are so much fun for kids! The learn how to follow directions and safely use tools to create a real project to take home.
Kids who are pre-register for multiple events have a chance to become a Jr. Builder or Sr. Builder to earn recognition and a prize!
Select Lowe’s locations open up limited spots for in-person workshops. The recommended ages for the Lowe’s DIY Kits are 4-11. All supplies and instructions are included!
2024 Lowe’s Kids DIY Workshops
Workshops are from 10 am – 1 pm.
January 20, 2024: My First DIY Toolbox
Time to get to work! This Kids Toolbox Workshop will have your little helper eager to tag along on your next home improvement project. Registration opens 12/11.
February 10, 2024: Chalkboard Message Center
Your mini-DIYer will love building this chalkboard that also doubles as a vase. It’s the perfect way to say “I love you” all year long.
March 16, 2024: Flower Bird Feeder
Your mini-DIYer will learn basic building skills while crafting a unique flower-shaped bird feeder to attract their feathered friends.
April 20, 2024: Garden Cart Planter
Kick off spring with your little builder as they grow new skills and create a fun garden cart planter — just in time to plant some seeds.
May 4, 2024: Butterfly Biome
Your little scientist will create a butterfly biome that’ll make a great gift — just in time for Mother’s Day.
Registration for Lowe’s Kids DIY Workshops
To attend an in-store event, register for one of the select time slots at your local Lowe’s. Workshops are from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
If you aren’t able to sign up for one of the expert hosted workshops, you can check with Customer Service see if there are kits available to build at home.
Check the Lowe’s site regularly to see when a new kit is released for registration, as spots fill up quickly!
Jr. and Sr. Builder Recognition Program
Registrants with Kids who register, attend and complete six (6) or twelve (12) Workshops by the end of 2024 will be recognized as Jr. or Sr. Builder.
- Jr. Builder: After successfully registering, attending, and completing six (6) eligible Workshops, as validated by the Participating Store’s Captain, Registrants may request that their Kids be recognized as a Jr. Builder. The Jr. Builder recognition includes Jr. Builder apron badge and certificate of Builder Recognition.
- Sr. Builder: After successfully registering, attending, and completing twelve (12) eligible Workshops, as validated by the Participating Store’s Captain, Registrants may request that their Kids be recognized as a Sr. Builder. The Sr. Builder recognition includes a Sr. Builder apron badge, certificate of Builder Recognition, and a promotional offer code to be redeemed by the Registrant online for one (1) free Kobalt® Kids’ Tool Bag, while supplies last
Lowe’s Workshop Options
Want to learn some skills yourself? Check back to see when Lowes resumes in-person workshops for adults! They offer regular DIY Workshops to allow customers to build skills for their next home improvement project, and DIY Women’s Workshops integrate small-group instruction to support do-it-yourself projects.
All workshops are free; however, there may be select workshops that provide customers with take-with items for a pre-specified cost.

I just updated the article. They don’t have a kit listed for August, but have added a bird house for pickup in September, unless that’s an error on the Lowe’s website.

Hi Andrea, check out our updated article about the take-home kits! Registration may be full for December, but it will likely be held the 2nd weekend of January, so check the Lowe’s website frequently to see when a new diy kit is available for registration. Thanks!
