Hoping to inspire 1 million people to volunteer their time, Disney is partnering with the HandsOn Network for the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day Free promotion. If you give your time and volunteer for a day, you’ll get a voucher for a FREE day at Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks!
You can sign up to participate beginning January 1, 2010, at which time you can begin searching online for volunteer opportunities. Once your service is verified, you’ll receive a voucher for free admission. Each person can only receive one voucher, no matter how much time was volunteered, but every family member over age 6 is able to participate and receive a free voucher. The vouchers are not transferrable and photo ids or birth certificates must be shown at the gate.
If you are purchasing a multi-day pass package or are a season pass holder, instead of the voucher you can get a free FASTPASS for you & up to 5 other members of your party, a collectible ear hat figurine with trading pins, or you can donate your voucher to a non-profit organization designated by Disney.
The program ends on December 15, 2010, or once the vouchers are all claimed. I recommend participating early in the year in case vouchers run out quickly. Click here to receive an email update reminder from Disney.
Don’t have kids to take to Disney? Go and drink around the world at Epcot. Trust me – it is a lot of fun (note: ride the rides before you drink too much!)
