The Hill’s Market, Local Matters, and Slow Food Columbus are working together for Food is Fun – Kids’ Food Day at the Hill’s Market on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Bring the family to enjoy a fun day focusing on food and healthy eating, along with the Saturday Pancake Breakfast*(8 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and the Annual Farmers’ Market (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.). This free event will feature workshops, tasting stations, and hand-on cooking classes for kids and teens ages 2-15. There will be also Free Boar’s Head Hot Dogs available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Young Kids’ Class – Rachel Tayse Baillieul of Hounds in the Kitchen
Older Kids’ Class – Tricia Wheeler of Edible Columbus
How to Stretch Mozzarella – Angel King of Blue Jacket Dairy
Taste Education Station – Slow Food Columbus
The Science of Ice Cream – Velvet Ice Cream Co.

*The Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. doubles as a fundraiser for Brookside Elementary’s Food is Elementary program with Local Matters.
