Pearl Market opens for Summer 2010 on May 18, 2010. The market runs from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and is located near 20 E. Broad St and the Lynn & Pearl Alleys through October. This is a fantastic market if you live, work, or loiter near downtown. There are always about 5-10 farms selling everything from fruit-veggies-meat-cheese….and some of the best corn on the cob in season! There are also typically vendors selling jewelry, handmade purses, soaps, Buckeye paraphernalia, books, delicious fresh baked goods and bread, and more. You won’t go hungry in Pearl Ally – besides the great little restaurants in that area, there are always several food vendors to keep the lunch crowd satisfied. In the past you could even get 5-10 minute massages from Take Ten Body Therapy!
Pearl Market is honestly one of my favorite things about working downtown. I hate getting up in the morning on the weekends, so I don’t often get to the farmers’ markets while the pickings are good. This gives me a chance to purchase all of the veggies that I need on my lunch hour and the prices are always reasonable. It’s also one of my favorite places to buy homemade jewelry for myself or for gifts.
Every year brings new vendors – stop by to see what you will find!
